Ladies and Gentlemen, Max Overton is officially an auto buy for me. I don't need to know the genre or even what the story is about. I know that if it has Max Overton on the book I'm guaranteed an excellent read filled with action packed adventure and emotional involvement. What more can a reader ask for?

Meticulously researched and filled with razor sharp action, Lion of Scythia will take readers back to a time when battles were fought for glory, land and a king. Author Max Overton has taken an exciting, yet blood-thirsty time, and brought it to life with his excellent writing skills.

Lion of Scythia is the story of Nikometros and Tomyra, the Scythian clan, and Nikometros' people. Nikometros is a Greek warrior, who is taken by Scythian warriors during a 'routine' patrol. He, because of an armband that was a gift from his mother, is spared (as are his men) and ends up becoming a Scythian. He falls in love with Tomyra, the chieftain's daughter and Priestess of the Great Goddess that the Scythians worship. What becomes of their love, and Niko is the plot of this book.
I rate this book an excellent 5 stars of 5. The story was sweeping, grand, romantic, and enchanting. I was enthralled up to the end. I hope that the second book is coming out soon, and I cannot wait to read it as well!

I hope that Max Overton's first foray into Historical Fiction will not be the last. I have just finished reading his Lion of Scythia, which is set in the times of Alexander the Great, and all I want to do is to read on.
Overton has done an excellent job of bringing to life a little-known corner of ancient history. Having done several years of research for my own series, I know just how difficult this is. Though larger than life, his main characters behave in an engagingly human manner and I as reader identified with their problems in facing their challenges, cheered at their triumphs, felt with them at their reverses.
